WELLNESS COLLECTIVE: 20 Minute Morning Yoga with Yoga by Nadry

We were excited to recently speak to Nadia Nadry, founder of Yoga By Nadry. We chatted about all things yoga, good nutrition and living a healthy balanced lifestyle. We're thrilled to have her join our Wellness Collective and provide us with some insight into her practice as well as sharing a 20 minute morning flow for us.

Nadia has been teaching yoga for over 6 years and is passionate about the practice, particularly because of how beneficial it is for our minds as well as our bodies. Nadia shares ways to boost energy levels and calm busy minds by offering accessible, open level classes to anyone from beginner to more advanced students.

Nadia is also a qualified prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher, offering 1-2-1 sessions in her home studio in Harrogate and runs retreats in Yorkshire which are currently being planned for 2023.

When discussing the perfect yoga flow for Nadia to share with us we decided that, (if you're anything like us at Ginger Health Foods!), we could all benefit with some movement first thing in the morning to start our day!

20 Minute Morning Yoga Practice

Nadia very kindly filmed a '20 Minute Morning Yoga Practice' focussing on stretching and strengthening the body, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and calm, ready to take on the day! You can see this via our Instagram page > 20 Minute Morning Yoga Practice with Nadry Yoga.

Why not take some time in your morning routine to give this a try and feel the benefits of practicing a short yoga flow before starting your day.

Tips and Thoughts

We also asked Nadia some questions including some top tips, what yoga means to her and how to fit it into your routine:

What type of yoga do you practice and what do you most enjoy about it?

I tend to practice Vinyasa Flow the most as I love flowing through poses in sequences. I love how dynamic the practice is and I find it helps keep me focussed on my breathing as the breath is linked to movement.

What was it that drew you to yoga?

Coming from a dance background, I have always loved moving, but I actually became a yoga teacher after I realised how powerful yoga was for me in managing stress and anxiety. It helped me so much and really inspired me to teach so I can share the practice with others.

How do you believe Yoga benefits your wellbeing?

I find yoga helps my mind and my body equally, and I feel the benefits in so many aspects of my life for example improving my sleep, mood, mindset as well as the physical benefits of feeling more flexible and easing tension in my body.

What 3 tips would you give to somebody just starting out in practising yoga?

My first tip would be not to worry about how flexible you are - this is the barrier for most people, yoga can help you become more flexible over time, but you can feel the benefits regardless of how flexible you are right now. The second would be to try out different classes and different teachers. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right fit for you. And lastly,  I would say consistency is key.  Having a regular practice is where you see the benefits.

What 3 words best describe yoga for you?

Calming, clarifying, renewing

How would you suggest building a sustainable yoga practice into your daily and weekly routine?

Start small. Even 10 minutes regularly will benefit you far more than trying to do multiple hours in the week that you can’t sustain. Finding a way to get yoga into your weekly routine will mean you are more likely to sustain the practice and benefit from it the most. I recommend starting with 10 minutes every morning, this is a fantastic way to create a healthy sustainable practice. Then you can increase and build from there.

Thanks so much Nadia!
